About the Instructor

Galit Shmueli is Associate Professor of Statistics at the University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business. 

Prof. Shmueli is a graduate of the Technion (PhD in Statistics, 2000). She authors over 70 peer-reviewed publications and several books. Among these is the textbook “Data Mining for Business Intelligence” (Wiley), which is the most widely used data mining textbook in business schools worldwide.

She has taught engineers and business students at the Technion, Carnegie Mellon University,  Indian School of Business, and University of Maryland for over a decade and has won multiple awards for teaching excellence.
